Don't Bother Me, I'm Having Fun!: Week 34

1. This morning we had a tour of the Daytona international speedway in our area. Our Ward mission leader got us tickets. It was pretty cool but I don't know anything about NASCAR so I felt like a fish out of water.

Tour of the Daytona International Speedway.

2. I wish I could just make this whole e-mail funny quotes from my Bishop. Last night we had dinner/meeting with our bishop, the Ward mission leader and the elders. Folks. Our bishop is my favorite. We asked Bishop if we could do something, he said yes and then we're like okay we're going to say, "Bishop said we could" and he goes "Oh well you can take my name in vain anytime." Also we were eating and he just grabs this tiny slice of bread and I said, "Bishop you know there are bigger pieces?" He goes "Yeah, well I like the end pieces." And then a couple minutes later... "Sister Sorensen did you see I got another piece of bread? I hope you’re happy." Best of all.. He’s getting something off the fridge and his wife asks what is he doing and he goes "Don't bother me I'm having fun."
Also- In the words of my Bishop’s wife "If you have a smoking problem, you can still come to church. Your sin just happens to have an odor, if all our sins had a smell we would have a very stinky congregation."

3. T! We were looking for formers and we found T. She said she was really interested in learning but she has no time. So we were sad. But we had the prompting we needed to text her and asked her if she read the pamphlet we gave her and she said, "No, but when you come over tomorrow you can explain it to me."…. What!? So cool! So we went there and she's says, "My boyfriend and my son and I want to come to your church." We had such a good lessons and we will be seeing her on her only days off until her job changes.

We made cookies the other day to make people like us, It's fine.

4. Following.. We leave T’s apartment and we get this text from M (a new investigator) who says, "I read your pamphlet and some things online and now for some reason I'm scared of you guys." Ahhhhhhh. But he called us! and I did a little freak out dance in the parking lot and we then called him back. We explained that, No I don't have more than one mom, no Mormons don't live in compounds in Utah, yes we're aloud to use technology (how else would we be communicating) and at the end of it he's like "Okay I guess you can come over next week." Yes!
Me and the many mobile homes.

5. I had such an amazing special experience. I had to give a talk on Sunday in the YSA branch. And I gave it on commandments. We had two people from a World Religions class come. And after sacrament meeting we went up to them and one of the girls was said, "I started crying in your talk, thank you so so much. I felt something so strong." It was so cool. It meant so much to me.

This week I hope you all can try to find joy in the commandments. Know that they are way that our Father in Heaven shows he loves us. I've been pondering on this so much. "If you love me, keep my commandments." Really our Father in Heaven is saying. If you love me you'll come home. If you love me, you'll want to be with me forever. If you love me, you’ll keep my commandments because if you love me, you'll let me make YOU happy. I know how to make you happy.
So let HIM make YOU happy, more than that - let Him fill YOU with joy.
Our recent convert and her siblings. I love my kiddos!
