Sister Missionaries and future Sister Missionaries |
Hi 😛💝
Well this week was a
little rough, only in the aspect that we didn't see much success. That's okay,
it makes the other Weeks seem like gold.
But I don't feel like
talking about the things that went wrong in this email, I think my journal or
you (mom) probably will and have heard enough about that.
So let's talk about some
good things.
La came with us to
Temple service! She loved it! And she kept sending pictures to her dad, and we
had a great lesson later that week with a member that she could relate a lot
to. She wasn't able to come to church but her family did have dinner at a
Members house last night!
Relief Society Birthday Celebration |
Okay I swear to you I met
the Cheshire Cat. I might or might not be Alice in Wonderland. Well I mean I
live 10 minutes from magic kingdom so it seems fitting.
I don't know how to
explain how she was the Cheshire Cat, the way she talked, the riddles,
something like that. She was telling us about how she died and came back to
life and something about the energy of the universe and
"jumpers"(other spirits who come into our soul) wow I learned a lot.
And guys come on, she's right. She had died and been to heaven. Duh. So she's
like "no you don't understand I already know what is going to happen… I've
seen it all" 😂
She was straight staring
into my soul the whole time. When she was telling us about her Lazarus
experience she looks me dead in the eyes and says, "because I've been to
the other side I can look people in the eye… and I know them, I know their
soul" eek!
Okay but here's the cool
part, so as we're about to leave, I hand her a Book of Mormon. And she says,
"oh this must be a coincidence" and proceeds to tell us this story
about how 3 weeks ago, a UPS truck was driving by, and back must of been open
because a box of our books fell out in front of her house and all into the
street. And her roommate (who she claims is a "I don't care about anything
or anyone" man) went out and picked them all up and called the UPS to come
get them. So I think that was pretty dang cool.
Also Sister G (not a
member) married to my favorite - Brother G. She made us a traditional Colombian
meal, and it might have been hands down the best meal I've ever had. It
almost.. beats dad’s steak. Speaking of which, I thought steak was my favorite
meal, turns out it's not unless my dad makes it because I've never liked It
anywhere else.
Anyway also Sister G is
super crafty, so she made us these cute little hearts. Still refuses to come to
church, but I think we're softening her heart ; )
My favorite thing of all time. Brother Gomez walking us out and waving us down the street |
Ha-ha-ha-ha and my
companion’s dad sent me 6 pounds of gumballs.
Sister McCullough asked me
what I wanted her dad to send me and being put on the spot I just yelled idk (I
don’t know) …gumballs and he came through. Ha-ha.
Who knows where I'm going
at the end of this transfer, but if Leave I'm going to be a mess. I love these
members so much. They are my family. I can't even explain how much I've learned
from them.
Members make a difference! I never
thought I would be one of those people who care so much about visiting and home
teachers, but my gosh I'd die for it now ha-ha. It matters so much, and it
makes such a difference.
I just hope everyone always remembers
that yes the people in the church are not perfect. But the church is! And why
is it? It's God’s church. It's literally his church, and he runs it. If you
think the organization is imperfect, then you better take it up with the man
upstairs. It's his plan. I truly believe his plan is perfect.
I know that whomever we meet,
wherever we met them, it's meant to be for some reason in gods grand scheme. He
provides earthy and heavenly angels around us all the time. Take advantage of
it.
The church is true.
Love you much.
The reference in her title was to a favorite Smother's Brothers funny song we love to listen to on road trips. If you are so inclined to give a listen click on the words below.
