Hey Y’all!
So what a week it ‘twas
Sister Staten and I went on some extended exchanges, Monday
night I exchanged back with Sister Johnson and went to stay with Sister
Anderson for a few days.
Sister Anderson is serving in the Disney YSA Ward, and let me
tell ya I love that Ward and those people, I had a blast.
Some highlights were we had a lesson with their recent convert
who just got baptized these last two weeks, he is awesome, and he feels the
spirit so strongly. He told me of all his experiences that led him to the
church, and he has such a strong desire to share the gospel with others.
We also got to watch the Disney fireworks from the back lot
behind Space Mountain for Members bring friends activity. They had a lot of
people come and being friends so it was really cool. Felt weird being able to
be the close though.
On Thursday we had district meeting and it was amazing,
afterwards we met with the elders to talk about how we can have the sisters be
ministered better to in the mission, so if you have any ideas let me know.
We had a lesson with this new girl we’re attempting to teach,
her family is members but they haven’t been going for a while and they want their
daughter to experience the church, but we need to work on the family first of
course because that’s what is going to help her.
Friday we had trainers follow up and it went really well. We
give a training that is more informational than anything so I always worry that
it will be boring, god answers even the funniest prayers because I really
prayed that it would be boring.. and for the first time it wasn’t! There
was so much participation so it was great.
Afterwards we watched the funeral, we got to see a little bit of
it but it cut out a lot so we watched the rest the next day.
Saturday was Josh’s baptism and it was awesome.
Josh is so ready to be baptized he’s been waiting so long and
being able to watch it was truly special. I think the best part was when he
bore his testimony. It was the most powerful testimony about decisions we make
in this life, and how the paths in life are different. He talked about how he
walked on the wrong path but once he found the right thing it felt like home,
it felt like being understood.
My favorite thing was the last thing he said “ I can’t wait to
live the rest of my life in this gospel.”
I think we should all keep that grateful attitude, to be in the
gospel and with us all the time; we’re truly blessed.
