Sister Sorensen and Sister Staten |
Hey ALL!
Sorry I’m just getting worse and worse at writing weekly emails,
it’s truly hard to remember what is going on and time is passing so quickly.
Hunters Creek Zone |
Tuesday we had Zone conference and it was a ton of fun! Sister
Staten and I gave a training on a finding method, for whatever reason giving a
talk in sacrament is so much less terrifying than in front of a bunch of
missionaries at Zone conference. But it all worked out:)
Zone Conference |
We had a lesson with a less active member, I am trying to work
on just listening to the spirit. The lesson went a lot different than some of
my other lessons. There was a lot of silence while we listened to what the
spirit wanted us to say, and I noticed the difference as we taught, I was
calmer and able to teach more clearly, I realized the best things you can learn
on a mission is to follow the spirit. To know how the spirit speaks to you is
the first step to being a successful missionary. I think that is truly what
blesses us through our lives because that allows us to be close to our Father
in Heaven and feel our Saviors love.
We have this new service place, we help with Meals on Wheels and
the people that serve with us are in prison:) they are on work leave. Don’t worry mom they are really nice and the
first thing they told was not to be scared of them...ha-ha-ha! No but really
they are super cool.
We visited our dear Brother Allen and let him tell us stories of
the past, his health is really failing and really all he wants is to have
someone to talk to.
We had to get hot chocolate a time or two because of how cold
it’s been! But for those who asked, I haven’t seen any frozen iguanas…ha-ha-ha
actually I haven’t seen any iguanas!
I went on exchanges with Sister Hardin in her area! It was
really cold that day and had we biked to the church to get the car from the
elders, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha I survived. But it was a little brutal. We got to go contacting
a lot that day, I actually love finding. I love to talk to people. I think it’s
so important to share our message, but to do that we need to help them. So
that’s what makes it so enjoyable. You get to know people and you love them and
you offer help by the message, I just think that’s how you truly come to love a
mission.
This weekend I worked super hard, we went on a longer exchange
so we could better help the sisters so I’ve been with Sister Johnson for a
couple of days. We have been preparing for our investigator Josh to be baptized
next Saturday, he took the discussions all summer but needed to wait until he
was 18 to be baptized, I’m really happy for him because he has been waiting for
this.

Our investigator Bella came to our ward for the first time!
She’s been attending the YSA with her son who recently got baptized, she has
seen how much the gospel has changed and blessed his life and that has prepared
her so much. After church we had a lesson at her house, she offered to say the
opening prayer and in the prayer she thanked God for allowing her to come to
church and giving her so many answers through testimony meeting. Then we asked her
what answers she got and she said that she got the answer that the church is
true and this is the right path. Bella has so much faith and desire, it’s been
such a blessing to watch the gospel change her family.
I just want to say I’m so thankful for my mission. I honestly
can’t picture my life without this experience. I can truly feel it changing me
day by day. I don’t see the world around me the same as I once did, things are
so much different now and I’m so grateful for the experience here. The Lord has
blessed me so much.
