Girls will still be Girls

“You can get them to the water.. but you can’t make them drink... no, you can get them to the water but you can’t make them get in it with someone holding the priesthood authority of God.”
- This comes from an epic conversation with Brother Gray and I (the 90 year old charm in the Leesburg Ward)

For those of you who don’t remember me my name is Sister Sarah Sorensen.

Well it’s going to be a really exciting week because we have an apostle of the lord Jesus Christ coming, Elder Stevenson. I can’t remember if I already told you that but he’s coming on Saturday and our whole mission is getting together for that!
Can’t waitttt!

Little update on my life
Everything is going great here in Leesburg I truly love my companion and my area.
We had a Ward party this week where a member told me my future.. he suspects I get married within a year and a half after returning home.
Mostly we just watched little kids dance and old people slow dance.
The old people in this ward make me so happy, They are so cute and in love and give me so much hope, I learn so much from their wisdom and experience.
I’m cool with someday growing old with someone.

We have this one neighborhood here where it seems everyone knows each other, well by that I mean everyone is always in someone else’s house. We had to deliver a bible to one lady but we were having a lesson with her neighbor then we just hear her come up behind us “ARE THOSE MY BIBLE GIRLS” She’s out there, but I’ll teach her.
There’s a lot of word of wisdom issues in this part of town.

Also our car was getting fixed this week so we walked a whole lot and we took the bus, that was an adventure, we got to have a good talk with our bus driver and share a little bit of our message with him.

On Saturday I went on exchanges with one of the sisters and we were tracting this one neighborhood and we met s really good lady I’m excited to see where it goes, she’s has negative experiences with church in the past so she hasn’t been too into going but now that she has kids she’s more open to exploring and finding God.

LIFE IS GOOD

Little baby George is so so cute and even cuter with my sweet Nora.

Here are some captions from Pictures Sarah sent this week and last week.
Here’s a little update on my life with pictures.
I’ll walk you through.
1) Well this is me sitting by a car with some epic sign about repentance, I have mad respect for whoever was willing to put such a forceful sign on their car. I see something like that and I think wow that’s bold.. but then I remember I knock on random people’s doors all day and do the same thing.
2) This is me and the Orlando temple. Look at that temple, and those palm trees. I’d like to think that someday someone will use this as a picture quote with something like “keep your eyes on the temple.” And then maybe I’ll make it on one of those LDS living pages.
3) if your first thought was page 33. That’s fine. Gators mean Florida and I love Florida so oh so naturally I love gators. I wanted to take it home with me but it’s not for sale and also I don’t have room it my suitcase.
4) My last PDay in the Hunters Creek Zone was spent at wild Florida. I was so grateful for my time in that area with those people. I learned so many valuable lessons that not only will effect the rest of my mission but the rest of my life.
5) On transfer day I was at the most privilege to see my two girls at the church. Sister Schomaker and Sister McCullough, Sister Schomaker is finally leaving Daytona and moving on to new adventures. And Sister McCullough is taking my place in Lake Nona, AH companions are the best.
6) Saying goodbye to sweet Sister Staten, we spent 3 glorious transfers together.
7) SISTER AMANDA NAYLOR. we called it folks, only 6 or 7 months ago did we serve around each other for a brief summer fling, where we were completely positive we would become companions someday, now is that day and Heavenly Father has blessed me
8) also we get free fro yo
9) Something I Love about Leesburg: lessons by the fire, out here bon fires are the deal so we had a lesson the other day with our recent convert Jim here, Jim blows my mind. He’s changed his whole life for the gospel. We just sat around that fire and looked up at the stars and amazed ourselves and the blessings the gospel has brought into our lives.
10) Sister Naylor and I’s bedroom, we keep a map of Florida on the wall and we write our favorite miracles and memories every night
11) SMART PHONES. Yes the future is now. You would think after spending my life with an iPhone that I’d be at least half decent texting on these things but having an I Pad, I’m useless typing on something that little. I’m learning
12) so we have a pull up bar going into our study room and I’ve determined to myself that every time I enter that room I will do one pull up. Well my comp as inspired as she is, told me to run and jump and catch the bar.. and I fell and stayed on the ground out of shame and she took pictures.

13) LAST, but never no never not least. This is my wonderful Florida in beautiful Leesburg, and good thing we’re not allowed to play beat em to teach em because you know I would lose, but I love the people here with all my heart. My heart belongs to the people of Florida. I’m so blessed to be a missionary, everyday I wonder how I could have ever lived without these experiences.
